We take great care to keep paint within the engraved letters, avoiding the surrounding stone as much as possible, and remove any excess once cured.

Marble is a very delicate and highly porous material, which means it requires a specialised and careful approach when repainting inscriptions.

Unlike standard headstones, marble cannot simply be painted over. The surface will absorb paint quickly, so precision is essential. Our technique involves carefully hand-painting within the engraved grooves only, ensuring the paint does not spread onto the surrounding marble surface where it can soak in and cause staining or discolouration.
